Avid golfers will enjoy the Rioja region, where Spain's finest wines are produced. This fertile land is located in the Ebro valley-one of its waterways, the Oja river, gives its name to the region-and comprises La Rioja province and parts of Álava and Navarra. We can distinguish the Rioja Alta (Upper Rioja) to the west around Haro, which is devoted principally to wine growing, and the Rioja Baja (Lower Rioja) with Logroño and Calahorra as its main towns, where an unusual tableland relief is given over to extensive vegetable growing.
